SignPosts: Good writing doesn’t need color.

“You’re traveling through another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind; a journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination. Your next stop…the Twilight Zone.”

The Twilight Zone debuted in 1959, running for 5 seasons and over 150 episodes.  It’s a testament to what you can do with good writers, actors, and creators.  Even today, the stories still scare you and force you to think.

Star Wars and Industrial Light and Magic changed Sci-Fi presentation in 1977, giving special effects a place in the storytelling.  Good effects can’t cover for a poorly written stories or characters, but a good actor, director, or writer can always work around a lack of special effects.
